Frequently Asked Questions

Can I try the Riverside Newcomers Club before I join?
All prospective members are allowed to attend one event or meeting, before joining.
What do I get for my membership dues?
Membership includes the monthly newsletter, La Campana, and the yearly membership directory. Dues are $35.00 per year, per household/mailing address and are somewhat pro-rated over the year. The membership year is from September 1 to August 31.
What if you do not have the interest group I am looking for?
Riverside Newcomers Club is membership driven. Any member can request the Board to start a new group if enough interest exists.
What is the age range?
All ages are welcome. Our members range from being in their twenties to eighties. We have recently started a Thirtysomethings interest group for our younger members. This is not a separate club but, as an interest group, an integral part of the Riverside Newcomers Club.
Do you take people from outside Riverside?
Yes we do! Although the majority of our members live in Riverside, some members hail from Corona, Norco, Moreno Valley, the Fontana Foothills Area, and other locations.
How do I go about making friends?
BE ACTIVE! Go to our monthly programs, attend interest groups, join a committee, check out a Board Meeting and dont forget our fun social events! If, as a new or prospective member you would like a ride to an event, contact the Hospitality Chair.
Do I have to pay for each interest group individually?
Membership dues give admission to everything. Some special events have admission fees covering their cost. There is no admission fee for interest groups, but each has a different way of sharing expenses, if there are any. Hosting rotates in most groups.
Can I put advertisements in the newsletter?
Yes, you can advertise in our newsletter. You do not have to be a member to be able to advertise. Contact our Newsletter Editor for more information. If you would like to sponsor our Web Page we would like to hear from you too.
Do you have any suggestions for finding a house, school, dentist?
We cannot endorse any businesses, but you can talk informally to other members. Member to member contact has historically been a great source of information among our members. You may also want to check advertisements in our newsletter, La Campana, or check the links below.
